With musicians from all over the world, Banyak Bunyik Republik create a transcultural sound bursting with atmosphere and style. The collective from Malaysia is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025 and combines turntables and saxophones, guitars and percussion, keyboards and flutes, trumpets and Indonesian tambourines to create a captivating blend of sound, dance and exploration. In Southeast Asia, the collective made a name for themselves with their EP “semBUNYIKan” (2019), fusing diverse musical traditions with fresh production methods - an auditory melting pot with no boundaries. On stage too, Banyak Bunyik Republic unleash an energy that shuns conventions and hypes in favour of an unflinching celebration of the diversity of human sounds. Which, in turn, always sounds different. So what better place for their first performance in Germany than the RBX?
