BED
At its core, BED is a queer project that views eclecticism as the modus operandi for the realisation of independent sound ideas. So far, so good. But the music of Argentinian bassist Sol Astolfi, Chilean singer Nicolás Astorga, and German guitarist Ema Schiller is not only characterised by the fusion of shoegaze and post-punk, of dream pop and acidic ambient soundscapes: It is above all conceptual tricks that combine a range of complementary expressive possibilities, from deliberately androgynous vocals to lyrical coming-of-age tropes and noise-like sound design. Just as identities and self-image change, BED oscillate between the audiovisual aesthetics of losing oneself and finding oneself again. This year’s debut album, ‘everything hurts’ (2025), follows the principle of life and suffering and seeks to understand the crises of one’s own biography as starting points for self-determined change. After having delivered a spectacular release show at the Kantine am Berghain in June, the three are coming to Hamburg in September.
