FREDRIK
As a young singer–songwriter, Fredrik made a particularly strong impression on the newcomer stage at the Millerntor Gallery this year. The Hamburg native pours his own contradictory emotions into his songs and stylishly translates coming-of-age themes into cinematic ambient pop. It is the era of confusion that shapes his wistful sound and accompanies a whole generation with widespread disillusionment. But what he demonstrates in the ballad ‘Größte Angst’ in terms of emotional sensitivity and bittersweet insight, he follows up in ‘Ohne Dich’ with encouraging self-empowerment. The result is a sound born of pain and doubt but that draws hope for the next new beginning. On his debut EP, ‘Verlernt zu fühlen’ (2025), Fredrik presents himself as a pop poet with musical poems in his repertoire, as honest as he is attentive, as relentless as he is uplifting. The fact that the release and the Reeperbahn Festival overlap in terms of timing is a coincidence – but a more-than-fortunate one.
