Itinera
Since the dawn of history, humans have performed complex rituals to celebrate the transitions between different stages or levels of existence. Music and community were an essential part of these festivities, to which Itinera now offer a contemporary yet timeless counterpart. The Hungarian duo combine the often-centuries-old folklore of their home country with modern electronic sound design and a mystical atmosphere that sets the imagination racing. Their debut EP, ‘Aurora’ (2023), was released two years ago and was accompanied by their first live shows, which were met with enthusiastic audiences from Hungary to the Czech Republic and France. This was followed by larger gigs at festivals such as Tallinn Music Week, where the project won prize money for the production of their first album and promptly began writing new songs. With ‘Békelj meg’ and ‘Csillag fénye, Holdnak fénye’ (2024), Itinera show that they are capable of translating these primal, trance-like sounds into many different contexts while consistently developing their style. Before their debut album is released in autumn, however, they will first celebrate a cosmic live ritual of rapturous intensity with us.
