Born in Kinshasa and raised in Montreal, Pierre Kwenders has always been a globetrotter who knows no borders - whether geographical, cultural or musical. His eclectic mix of styles - Afrobeats and funk, hip-hop and Congolese rumba, electropop and house - has managed to get people ecstatic all over the world for over a decade now, as well as impressing the music critics. Albums such as the warm, psychedelic firework display of genres ‘MAKANDA At The End Of Space, The Beginning Of Time’ (2017) or the soulful diary entries of ‘José Louis And The Paradox Of Love’ (2022) are some of the most innovative Afrobeat works of our time and have made the multilingual singer and rapper a globally successful reformer of the genre.
