Sloe Noon
Dreams usually occur in the bedroom, mostly with closed eyes and altered brain activity. In Sloe Noon’s sound, dreams and reality come together in a variety of ways to celebrate the beauty of the inner view that characterises the duo’s style. After all, their debut EP, ‘Embassy Court’ (2021), and its follow-up, ‘Liminality’ (2022), sound like musical entries from a lost diary from the nineties that was found during a move. British alternative rock à la Wolf Alice or The Sundays and the beat tinkerers of Ruhrpott Krautrock find their way in here, as do the romantic self-reflections of the Smashing Pumpkins and the ethereal shoegazing of Slowdive circa 1993. A feeling of longing, of the dopamine rush of falling in love and of the fears of loss pervades the sound of Sloe Noon, who also confidently navigate between worlds on their latest EP, ‘All Feelings, No Technique’ (2025).
