Seasoned veterans without sounding polished, sisters Mille and Mie celebrate their own take on hook-driven punk rock, inspired by the sun-drenched beaches of Cape Town. As The Soap Girls, the duo have enjoyed a hell of a run over the last ten years, not just in South Africa but globally. Their debut ‘Calls For Rebellion’ (2016) marked the starting point, followed not only by hundreds of high-energy live performances but also by much-acclaimed albums such as ‘Elephant In The Room’ (2019) and ‘In My Skin’ (2022), which delighted critics and fans alike. Stamina was essential for this, but the pair have been honing that skill since childhood, when they used to play gigs on the street whilst selling soap.
