Tom A. Smith
Whilst others, upon reaching the age of majority, are just trying to sort out a driving licence and their own flat, Tom A. Smith released not one, not two, but three EPs in the same year. That was 2022. Since then, no career peak has been too high for the singer-songwriter, no stage too big to be conquered with effortless verve. With the unwavering self-confidence of a global star in his voice, the groove of venerable Britpop greats in his blood and, quite clearly, a tanker-load of ideas in his head, Smith, at the age of 22, cuts an utterly audaciously impressive figure – artistically, visually and in the media. This is one of the reasons why, in his native Britain, he has been one of the biggest names in the indie scene for years and can claim to have released a virtually flawless discography to date. Unsurprisingly, tickets for this year’s UK tour sold out within days, whilst the new EP ‘Say What You Want’ (2025) sums up the artist’s credo: no matter what anyone thinks, I’m doing my own thing. And why not?
