Édouard does not conform to the typical clichés of masculinity – and feels increasingly excluded. During a weekend with his childhood friends Renaud and Xavier, he realises that their friendship is caught up in a dangerous game of competition and toxic masculinity rituals. Between dares and provocations, suppressed truths come to light. And it soon becomes clear that Édouard has to find his own way.

Adopting an almost documentary-like style, the series ‘T-REX’ centres on a crucial phase of growing up: caught between the expectations of supposedly accepted masculinity, individual ideas of gender roles and the search for one’s own identity, the story unfolds as a subtly drawn psychogram of a generation that stretches from Andrew Tate to Chappell Roan. Author and creator Louis-Philippe Vachon explores how it feels growing up between twisted ideals of masculinity and social pressure. With a superb cast of talented young actors and a story told through poetic images, ‘T-REX’ is a captivating drama with a finely tuned feel for the emotional worlds of its protagonists.
