This date is in the past.

This session discusses how AI can be used in pop music and where the ethical and legal boundaries lie.

Contradiction is at the heart of this panel curated by AfPM:

Rick Rubin calls AI “the punk rock of coding.” The technology can enable a young musician to bring her own idea to life at a high level without resources or professional infrastructure. But it can also be used to make a person do something that person never decided to do on their own.

Engaging in a discussion of this contradiction are pop musicians Nisse and Balbina (both from AfPM), activist Theresia Crone, and General Counsel Kai Welp, who led GEMA’s lawsuits against OpenAI and Suno.

The panel will be moderated by ShaNon Bobinger.
