Dotan
Starting out very modestly, Dotan played gigs in pedestrian zones and bars, and gave small living-room concerts at friends’ homes. Then his debut album “Dream Parade” (2011) was released, turning him into a celebrated young talent in the Netherlands virtually overnight: Dotan’s career is the stuff of movies, and the sound of this Dutch-Israeli singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist is every bit as cinematic. In his hands, emotional melodies and compositions blending indie, folk-pop and rock are transformed into larger-than-life anthems that seem to want to embrace the whole world. With his deeply hopeful, life-affirming sound, Dotan reaches millions of fans around the globe and has racked up even more streams on major platforms. His second album, “7 Layers” (2014), went double platinum, catapulting Dotan onto international stages and paving the way for the creative freedom of his subsequent albums. Today, songs like “Home” or “Hungry” (2014) are considered Dutch pop classics, connecting him more and more with the genre year after year and song after song. So his appearance for us comes not a moment too soon.
