Like so many artists these days, Lisa-Marie Kämpf started out covering songs on YouTube and other platforms. But eventually her love of music became a true passion, and she began writing her own lyrics, melodies and arrangements. These are now gaining international recognition, using catchy electric guitar melodies and dreamy atmospheres to showcase her thoughtful lyrics. As Lisl, this Würzburg native doesn't settle for superficial fanfare, instead delving deep into topics such as mental health, social anxiety and fears about the future. The songs on her recently released EP ‘I don't know if it's irony’ (2025) are intimate diary entries that listeners can identify with. No wonder that she's striking a chord with Gen Z audiences. But the fact that even the talent factory that is “BBC Introducing” has picked up on her is definitely saying something.
