In times of crisis, it’s not easy to see the best in people. And yet, psychology shows that we—both individually and collectively—have the capacity to initiate change. This also applies to how we confront the climate crisis.

In her keynote, Verena Kantrowitsch (Psychologists for Future) explores why knowledge alone does not lead to action. She presents fascinating insights from social and environmental psychology that reveal which behavioral changes toward sustainable living come easily to people, where we encounter internal or societal obstacles, and how we can effectively advocate for solutions—without individualizing the problem.

“Imagine Togetherness” is more than just an idealistic motto; it is a psychological principle: connection, collective reflection, and new narratives form the foundation for meaningful action and acceptance—both in conversations at home and in shaping public policy.
