Yade Yasemin Önder | Anti Müller
A six-year relationship. Six years: Yes, no, maybe. Six years of the narrator’s dream of having a child being repeatedly put on hold. And finally, just before the clock is running out, the successful writer unilaterally terminates their relationship. He moves on; his career’s calling. The only thing left for the now 35-year-old is to pick herself up and sort through the rubble of her life.
But is her partner a bad person just because his clock isn’t ticking quite as loudly? Because he asks for even more time, only to end up leaving her high and dry? As does her next partner. And the one after that, too. How can a woman keep it together when her partner repeatedly breaks their word? And should the inevitable consequence be to strike out on her own? In ‘Anti Müller’, Yade Yasemin Önder offers a literary insight into women’s realities – empathetic, comforting, but also radical. The reading will be hosted by Nefeli Kavouras, a debut author, podcaster and literary event organiser from Hamburg.
