Andrea Collette Vincent
Andrea Collette Vincent has spent over a decade working across the festival landscape, from artist care to artistic direction, operations, production and executive leadership.
Currently pausing from festivals, Andrea is exploring new pathways in music.
As co-founder of Lawnya Vawnya, a nationally recognized incubator for emerging music in Newfoundland and Labrador, and later as Executive Director of Dawson City Music Festival (2016–2022) and Creative Director of Sappyfest (2022–2024), Andrea has had led some of Canada’s most beloved music festivals and has had the immense privilege of working with over 450 groundbreaking artists from around the world.
Deeply passionate about Canada’s underground music culture and joyful gatherings as a catalyst for a better world, Andrea’s work is rooted in care, equity, and reimagining industry norms, particularly around improving working conditions for musicians and cultural workers in rural and small urban communities.
Andrea currently serves on the board of the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts (CAPACOA), a national organization representing presenters, festivals, networks, agents, and managers working across the presenting and touring sector in Canada.
Bringing an interdisciplinary lens to the sector, Andrea’s background spans care and disability work, visual art, land-based practices, and cultural preservation. Outside of work, Andrea lives for being on the water, and swears that the best life advice is in the song “Music and Friends” by Newfoundland band Simani.
