SALOMEA

DE

Rebekka Salomea, born in 1991, grew up in a German–US American household where music was both language and legacy. Long before she studied voice, she was already composing — inventing melodies and imaginary languages in the backseat of her parents’ car.

In 2013, she began formal studies in Jazz and Pop Voice at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Cologne (Germany), later at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen (Denmark). A year later, she founded her own genre‑fluid band: SALOMEA, fusing experimental jazz, hip hop, electronic textures, and radical lyricism into something both fierce and flexible — a vessel for deep listening and intimate urgency.

Rebekka’s voice is as much instrument as interpreter — channeling vulnerability, political awareness, and raw power. Over the years, she has been involved in a wide range of ensembles: from big bands to experimental a cappella groups. In 2021, she was nominated twice for the German Jazz Prize, a testament to her band’s unique position in Europe’s cutting-edge music landscape.

To date, SALOMEA has released three critically acclaimed studio albums, multiple EPs and singles — most recently the intimate and expansive “Good Life”, a record that explores joy, softness, struggle, and self-definition. This record was one of the most recognised albums of 2024, which was enthusiastically received by the international press and achieved placements on JazzFM (London), KCRW (Los Angeles), Bandcamp Weekly and throughout Germany, among others.

She has been touring regularly with her band for years - most recently she played at the Chile Jazz Festival, ELBJAZZ (Arte Concert), Cologne Jazzweek and was part of the Wunderkinder programme at the Reeperbahn Festival 2024.

Rebekka has collaborated with international artists across disciplines, including Sophie Yukiko, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Ray Lozano, Silvan Strauss, Oscar #Worldpeace, Moses Yoofee and many more. Her live performances — intense, textured, and improvisational — blur the line between concert and ceremony.

Otherwise, she’s into martial arts, dance, and philosophy.
Rebekka Salomea isn’t chasing trends. She’s carving space — for lived emotion, for shared experimentation and for seeking truth.
