Sofie Fatouretchi (stage name Sofie Royer) is a California-born Austrian-Iranian multi-instrumentalist and producer. She trained in classical composition and concert violin at the Vienna Conservatory and played both violin and viola professionally with the Vienna Youth Philharmonic and the Vienna Academic Philharmonic.

Her third studio album, Young-Girl Forever, released in November 2024 on Stones Throw Records, was praised by The Guardian: ‘Her new wave style hits harder than ever on an outstanding album – Royer is one of Europe's enigmatically overlooked pop stars, with appealing vocals and glamour.’

She has performed live on BBC 6 Music, France Culture / Radio France, Radio Nova, Deutschlandfunk, the German morning show ZDF Morgenmagazin Café and most recently on a KEXP Live session.

Most recently, she composed and performed in Audrey Diwan's adaptation of the French cult film ‘Emmanuelle’ (2024) alongside Naomi Watts, and was nominated for Best Pop Album at the 2024 Libera Awards in New York City in June. She also received nominations for Best Sound and Best Pop/Rock Album (both 2024) as well as the FM4
Audience Award (2022) at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.

Sofie has performed as the support act for Lana Del Rey at L'Olympia in Paris, for Air at the Philharmonie de Paris, and for LCD Soundsystem. Collaborations include work with Toro Y Moi, Lewis OfMan, Rebounder, Eli Keszler, Keinemusik &ME, and Kavinsky.
She has developed bespoke live performances and/or DJ sets for various brands, including Cartier, Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, Longchamp, Ralph Lauren and Prada.
