Uninhibited, filter-free, Dea Bbz brings her well-toned German rap to the stage - and is making the scene drool. The adopted Berliner is influenced by the early days of Aggro Berlin, but also by Haiyti and UK rap brand slowthai. With her first EPs “Es eskaliert eh” (2023) and “Isso” (2024), the rapper successfully hit the hip-hop landscape between Hamburg and Munich, mainly grabbing attention due to her signature style. This moves from assuredly spitting out bars in drill mode to a head-nodding beat somewhere between boom bap and gangster rap. She masters the repertoire of the street as well as showing the aplomb of an established artist with zero tolerance for the whackness of patriarchal structures. A dash of stripping down, a bit of burning down, saying goodbye to the traditional and shining a light on the dark depths of our culture - all this feeds Dea Bbz's sound with political resonance and yet still generates one banger after another. With her latest EP “Trackstar” (2025), she manages the balancing act between wide-ranging, steam-hammer beats and a feminist message.
