Sorvina
Sorvina stumbles from one synchronicity to the next without any pretences and is enjoying the fateful coincidences that characterise her young career. An innocent gig at the Volksbühne Berlin in March 2022 changed the life of the New York–born artist from the ground up. A special kind of ‘aha moment’, as Sorvina hadn’t actually thought about being an artist until then. Further live experiences in artist venues in the capital – such as 90mil and Fluxbau – followed and showed her that she could reach, change, and help people with her mixture of hip-hop, soul, jazz, and gospel-infused poetry. This year’s debut EP, ‘Oh, The Places You’ll Go’ (2025), is a real dream come true for the rapper and songwriter. She dresses up autobiographical experiences and topics ranging from queer love to the faith and fears of Gen Z in crazy groovy songs such as ‘Running’ and ‘Heaven Comes To Earth’ and is increasingly becoming a sought-after newcomer in the pulsating Berlin music cosmos. It’s therefore high time she paid us a visit to Hamburg.
