Jamie Lüders | WASTED BEAUTY
The experimental editorial magazine WASTED BEAUTY presents Jamie Lüders’ view of sustainable fashion – through powerful images and new perspectives. It explores sustainability in the fashion industry from an artistic perspective through photography, graphic design, and editorial articles; it expresses criticism of consumerism; and it addresses gender equality. At its core are conceptual photo series that showcase fashion made from waste, algae, or recycled materials – as a critique of excess and as an alternative concept. The magazine is complemented by interviews with designers and experts such as Martina Glomb, all of whom provide insights into sustainable production methods. WASTED BEAUTY is a call to consider aesthetics and responsibility together: visually, critically, and inspiringly.
Jamie Lüders is a photographer with an eye for aesthetics in chaos and for beauty in symmetry – and her photographs capture both extremes. Her works show people in all their diversity, often in connection with fashion and costume. She searches for that special motif that invites the eye to linger, even in a fast-paced world. This creates an exciting dance between pure representation and deep narrative.
