Karsten Schölermann
Karsten Schölermann (born in 1960) was initially a musician in the early 1980s, later studying business administration and graduating with a degree. He has been running Hamburg's ‘KNUST’ since 1983. From 2012 to 2020, he was on the board of LIVEKOMM, LiveMusikKommission e.V., and is now the first chairman of the Bundesstiftung LiveKultur. His activities in Hamburg also include the events ‘Rockspektakel’ (Rathausmarkt) and ‘Hafenrock’ (Hafengeburtstag) – both of which have been part of the Hanseatic city's rock music programme for over 20 years. He has also been co-owner of LOGO since 1994. The range of events is complemented by around a dozen running events. As a long-time track and field athlete, he has been responsible since 1990 for the 10-kilometre run around the Alster and the Hamburg Half Marathon, among other things – both of which are among the largest of their kind in Germany.
