Naming themselves Inspector Spacetime after a cult British science fiction series from the 1960s makes perfect sense given this Reykjavik-based trio’s dazzling sound design. For the last few years, they’ve created some truly rousing funk tunes combining disco, house and synthpop that tempt even the most move-shy to hit the dancefloor. The debut album “Inspector Spacetime” (2021) won honours at all the main awards in Iceland and also got noticed on the European mainland. The “Extravaganza” EP (2023) and singles like “Party At My House” (2025) epitomise the project’s musical ethos perfectly: blistering disco grooves, fresh sampling and energetic beats merge into a blend that makes you just want to party hard. If you’re fans of Daft Punk or Charli XCX, Giorgio Moroder or Jamiroquai, Inspector Spacetime will tick all the dance music boxes for you, no question marks remaining. Except perhaps one: how come I’ve never seen this crew before? Don’t worry, we’re about to oblige you.
