The Anchor Award celebrates its 10th anniversary!
For ten years now, the Anchor - Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award has represented musical quality, artistic vision, and international visibility for emerging acts. In 2025, the Anchor jury will once again be led by singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur Tayla Parx, who has enjoyed worldwide chart success with hits such as ‘Thank U, Next’ (Ariana Grande) and ‘High Hopes’ (Panic! At the Disco) and has more than six billion streams to her name.
At her side: rock icon Suzi Quatro - one of the first successful women in rock history, who shaped generations with songs such as ‘Can the Can’ and ‘Devil Gate Drive’. Another member of the jury is avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson - a pioneer at the interface of music, storytelling, and technology, most recently honoured with the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award.
BAZZAZIAN is one of the most influential producers in the German music scene, who has worked with Haftbefehl, Schmyt, and Apsilon, among others, and has made an impressive artistic statement with his solo album ‘100Angst’. The jury is completed by Max Giesinger, one of Germany's best-known pop artists, who has developed from street musician to chart-topper and TV judge.
Six acts that could hardly be more different - and yet have one thing in common: their artistic potential - are in the running for the 2025 Award.
Among them are:
-> Cara Rose (GBR), whose powerful soul is located somewhere between Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys.
-> Carpetman (UKR), an innovative rapper and producer with an unmistakable aesthetic.
-> Mei Semones (USA), who fuses introspective folk with Japanese lyricism, bossa nova and indie rock.
-> RIP Magic (GBR), an experimental duo with a sound mix of electronica, cold wave and industrial.
-> Soft Loft (CHE), whose melancholic indie pop has delighted international radio stations.
-> Und Sorvina (USA/DEU), a promising newcomer from Berlin who combines hip-hop, jazz and gospel poetry impressively.
