47 new acts for Reeperbahn Festival

The following 47 new confirmations in our programme not only increase the number of confirmed acts to 196, but also enhance the stylistic diversity: the spectrum in today's announcement ranges from progressive indie rock to pop noir, political German rap, bedroom pop with club potential, to graceful French pop, and much more.

The four multi-instrumentalists from Everything Everything show that, thanks to albums such as ‘Get To Heaven’ and ‘Mountainhead’, bands can still manage to oscillate stylistically between dance music, indie, and art rock and still sound unmistakable. On albums such as ‘Herz aus Gold’, ‘Pop & Tod I+II’, and their new work ‘Schwarze Magie’, the cheerfulness of songwriter and singer Stella Sommer has proven that her pop-noir has a grandeur in every form that gains in contour with every release. The rap trio Waving The Guns have been successfully reviving political hip-hop in the German rap landscape for a decade with boom-bap beats, great samples, and eloquent social criticism - they will be presenting their new album ‘Zwischen Wand und Tapete’ at the Reeperbahn Festival. Songwriter Chloe Slater unites many things that some consider incompatible: Songs, bursting with stylistic adventurousness between bedroom pop, indie rock, and post-punk, challenge her audience with socio-political lyrics and yet rake in millions of streams on all the relevant platforms - nothing is lost yet. As Vendredi sur Mer, Charlie Mignot stands for poetry, danceability and pop that is just as good for dancing, dreaming or thinking to. Her electropop speaks of love, memory, female identity and self-assertion as an emotional kaleidoscope.
